Justice Jackson raises a red flag on the idea of a president with no legal liability

  • An MSNBC prime time panel discusses the argument made by Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson that making the president above any criminal accountability for crimes they may commit in office presents a greater risk of mushrooming criminal activity in the White House than the "chilling effect" that concerns Donald Trump's legal team and their sympathetic justices.

I agree completely, all they have to do is make a judgement according to the constitution.
But at least five of the people in this court, are politicians masquerading as judges, they are ruling, not according to law, but instead there own personal convictions. They are determined to turn our government into an authoritarian type of rule.

Justice Jackson is the only Justice who so legally bluntly and sensibly got right to the point and stated what we know to be the big issue here - giving a president the right to commit crimes and never be held accountable.

I have a question here. If a president is given blanket immunity to do whatever they want does that mean they can’t even be impeached?

No. Congress CAN impeach him, if they can survive long enough to vote on it.

All of this is just nuts! Absolutely not have immunity from crimes committed while in office or in his private life.

There has to be checks and balances with accountability for crimes committed by presidents, or the U.S.A would be an unimaginable country.

That the problem with all you people what you care about is your fleeings. Miss Jackson doesn't get to rewrite the United states constitution she there to uphold it. It's ridiculous to think the founding fathers did see this happening and by mistake given Congress the power of impeachment and the Senate the power of trial and conviction. The fact that this is in the supreme court alone is an Abomination. And one step closer to the end of America. God in his wisdom said he who hate is brother is a merder. You people hated of Trump dressed up as he just a terrible human is deplorable. The United states constitution begins with we the people. Government is naver to be considered the people. So it's our government that we must now fear. Let the American people determine the fate if the president in November. Because let face the fact no president in American history was worthy of the presidency. That God America is not a democracy or Triump would have never become president or if he did wouldn't serve all his term because he would be in a prison or dead. That what people do in democracy that why all you Democrats keep talking about democracy because you know you can become dictators. So miss Jackson is say what she would like to see not what the constitution say. She's an unelected burocate.

It should be very disturbing that they even agreed to hear the case. You can't drain the swamp when the highest court is a cesspool!
